Description
5-Amino-1MQ 50mg from LA Peptides comes as 50mg of lyophilized powder in a sealed glass vial, made for laboratory research. Every batch has its own certificate of analysis, and you can pull it up by scanning the QR code on the side of the label.
What is 5-Amino-1MQ?
5-Amino-1MQ (5-amino-1-methylquinolinium) isn’t actually a peptide. It’s a small molecule that blocks NNMT, nicotinamide N-methyltransferase, an enzyme that’s especially active in fat tissue.
NNMT uses up nicotinamide and SAM, two molecules tied to NAD+ and cell methylation. The idea behind blocking it is to keep more of both available. Because it’s so small, it crosses cell membranes easily.

Research so far
The best known study came from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2018. In mice on a high-fat diet, 5-Amino-1MQ reduced fat mass and fat cell size without any change in food intake. Later work from the same group looked at muscle stem cells in older mice.
There aren’t any published human trials. It’s sold here for laboratory research only.

What’s on the certificate of analysis
Scan the QR code on the label and the certificate of analysis for that batch opens on your phone. A peptide COA usually lists the lot number, the test date, purity by HPLC and identity by mass spectrometry. Before you start, check that the lot number on the COA matches the one on your 5-Amino-1MQ 50mg vial.
Saving the COA alongside your records is a small habit that pays off when you’re comparing one batch with the next.
5-Amino-1MQ 50mg reconstitution and concentration
How much liquid you add decides the concentration. For a 5-Amino-1MQ 50mg vial:
- 2ml of bacteriostatic water gives 25mg/ml
- 5ml of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/ml
Pick a volume that makes your measurements easy, then write the concentration and the date on the vial. It’s a small step that saves confusion a week later.
How to reconstitute and store it
Keep the sealed 5-Amino-1MQ 50mg vial in the fridge, or in the freezer if you won’t get to it for a few months. Before you open it, let it come to room temperature so moisture doesn’t condense inside.
Most labs reconstitute it with bacteriostatic water. Run the liquid slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently. Don’t shake it. Once mixed, keep it refrigerated and use it within a few weeks. A peptide case helps if vials travel between benches.

5-Amino-1MQ 50mg FAQ
How much is in each vial?
The 5-Amino-1MQ 50mg vial holds 50mg of lyophilized compound. The amount is printed on the label.
Is 5-Amino-1MQ a peptide?
No. It’s a small molecule, but it’s studied alongside peptides in a lot of the same research, so we stock it with them.
Is every batch tested?
Yes. Each batch has a certificate of analysis, and the QR code on the vial opens the one for your batch.
What do I need to reconstitute it?
Bacteriostatic water and a sterile syringe. We sell BAC water in 10ml vials.
Can it be used on people or animals?
No. It’s sold for laboratory research only and isn’t approved for human or veterinary use.
