Description
The Dihexa spray by LA Peptides is a 10ml nasal spray bottle containing 10mg of Dihexa in buffered solution. It skips the reconstitution step entirely, which saves time on the bench.
What’s in the Dihexa spray?
Dihexa is an angiotensin IV-derived compound from Washington State University. It boosts hepatocyte growth factor signaling, and rat studies looked at learning, memory and new synapse formation.
It works by boosting the activity of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) at its receptor, c-Met. HGF signaling is linked to the growth of new connections between nerve cells.
Dihexa was designed to be small and fat-soluble, which helps it cross barriers that stop most peptides. That property makes intranasal delivery an interesting route to study, and the spray removes any need to dissolve the powder yourself.

Why researchers use the spray format
Nasal delivery is its own area of study, especially for peptides that act on the brain, because the nasal lining sits close to the central nervous system. A premixed spray keeps that kind of work simple.
The trade-off is shelf life. A solution doesn’t keep as long as freeze-dried powder, so plan to use the bottle within a few weeks of opening.

Research background
Joseph Harding and Jay Wright developed Dihexa at Washington State University. Their 2012 and 2014 papers reported that it improved learning and memory in rat models, and that it was extremely potent at forming new synapses in cell cultures.

How to store the Dihexa spray
Refrigerate the bottle and keep it capped when it isn’t in use. The first few pumps prime the spray mechanism, so expect to waste a little at the start. Keep the nozzle clean between uses.
Use it within about 30 days of opening, and don’t swap nozzles between bottles.

Keeping track of a spray bottle
Write the date you opened the Dihexa spray on the label. Note how many pumps you use per session and how many went into priming, so you know roughly how much is left. If the pump delivers about 0.1ml per press, a 10ml bottle gives around 100 presses, so a simple tally tells you when to reorder.
Keep the lot number in your notes too. If you switch to a new bottle partway through a study, you’ll know which results came from which batch.
