Description
KPV capsules from LA Peptides hold 500mcg of KPV per capsule, with 60 capsules to a bottle. Each capsule is pre-measured, so there’s nothing to reconstitute or weigh. Sold for laboratory research only.
What’s in KPV capsules?
KPV is the Lys-Pro-Val tripeptide from the tail end of alpha-MSH. It’s small enough to be carried into gut cells by the PepT1 transporter, which is why so much of its research uses oral and colitis models.
What makes KPV interesting is that it seems to keep the anti-inflammatory activity of alpha-MSH without the pigment effects. It’s also small enough to be taken up by PepT1, a peptide transporter found in the gut lining, which is why so many studies use oral or gut models.
KPV is small enough to be carried into gut cells by the PepT1 transporter, which is the whole reason oral KPV gets studied. Each capsule holds 500mcg, and there are 60 in the bottle.

Why choose capsules?
Capsules make dosing in an oral model simple. Every capsule holds the same labeled amount, so there’s no measuring, no solvent and nothing to refrigerate after mixing. They also travel well.
Most peptides are broken down in the gut, and absorption varies a lot from compound to compound. Comparing a capsule against a vial is a common study design for exactly that reason.
Other formats of the same compound: KPV 10mg (lyophilized vial), KLOW Peptide Blend 80mg (80mg in one vial), GI Mod Capsules (500mcg + 500mcg + 1mg per capsule, 60 capsules).
Research background
Most of the published work is in mouse models of colitis and in cultured intestinal and skin cells. A 2008 study in Gastroenterology showed that PepT1 carries KPV into gut cells, and later groups tried packaging it in nanoparticles for gut delivery.

How to store KPV capsules
Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. A cupboard is fine, but a bathroom isn’t, because of the humidity. Leave any desiccant packet in the bottle.
Handle the capsules with dry gloves, and keep the bottle away from children and pets.

Keeping track of your capsules
Sixty capsules is a fixed count, which makes record keeping easy. Note the date you opened the KPV capsules and keep a running count, and you’ll always know how many are left and when to reorder.
If you open capsules to work with the powder inside, remember that the labeled amount applies to a whole capsule. Weigh the contents if your method needs a precise figure.
Oral peptide research in brief
Taking peptides by mouth is hard because the stomach and gut are built to break proteins down. Researchers work around that with enzyme-resistant sequences, coatings, absorption enhancers and very small molecules. Comparing a capsule with an injectable form of the same compound is one of the simplest ways to see how much of that challenge a given compound faces.
